10/9—The Great Blackout

Despite the lack of power today, we had class and did it old school. After checking and sharing the homework, we read "Four Skinny Trees"  (pps. 74-75) and then did a bit of writing comparing Cisneros' text with Tupac's poem from Tuesday.

Today we worked on Khan Academy and reading groups read and wrote about "Edna's Ruthie."

SMM Modeling & Practice

After looking at and copying down a model SMM, we read and wrote about "Born Bad."

After assigning the homework, due tomorrow, we spent the period on a few chapters from HMS, getting all the way through "First Job" in period 4.
