Wednesday and Thursday

Wednesday, we finished the Says/Means/Matters we started Tuesday and then read 1.2-3 of Romeo and Juliet, answering a few questions along the way (see below).

Thursday, we watched 1.3 on video and did a short reflective warm-up, and then read 1.4, focusing on the Queen Mab speech (see below).

The Prologue

Today we had a look at the prologue (see below) and reviewed the results of Thursday's poll.

Welcome to Shakespeare!

Today we started with a short warm-up about Shakespeare and his work, added notes from page 930 to our "Academic Terms" section, and then had a bit of fun with Shakespeare's language. We started here and then did a bit of art with Shakespeare's insults. Students also responded to the poll here. Students should finish their insult art for homework if necessary.

"Charming Billy"

Today we finished up the close read on page 747 and, after adding the terms "realism" and "flashback" to the notes, we read "Where Have you Gone, Charming Billy." We then finished and handed in the reading assignment below with the close reads.

Back from the CST

Today we had our first class post-CST. We spent the day reviewing the unit 8 notes on pages 744 and 746. Students also did the close reads on page 745.
