The Course Description

Today we had a short online quiz on the course description (getting in some practice with the Chromebooks and Socrative.com) and talked about the class expectations a bit. We also continued our work with class values in most periods.

Values

Today we talked about our own core values and what should be the core values of our class.

Circles & Respect

Today we practiced some circle expectations (though not in a circle) and continued our conversation about respect.

Some Important Terms

Today, we continued our discussion of stereotypes, prejudice, and bias. Then we went over the discussion rubric and touched on the idea of respect.

Name Tags & Some Business

We began the day by making name tags and sharing a bit about ourselves. We then talked a bit about picture day (8/31/17) and the course description, which students should read with a guardian and return signed by 8/30/17.
