Picture Day

Today I stamped rough drafts of the letter of introduction while students worked on a short quiz on the course description (which should have been signed and returned by now). After that we talked a bit about the letter final drafts and went to get school pictures.
HW: Intro Letter, Final Drafts, Typed w/ rough draft, due 9/5.

Planners & Personal Letters

We began the day with a bit of a planner hunt and then, with the last little bit of class, worked on the introductory business letter assignment.
HW: Rough drafts of the letter body paragraphs are due tomorrow.

Tomorrow is picture day!

Planners, Books, and Letters

After a quick warm-up, we finished up the quick-writes (which were collected) and students got their EHS planners which they should bring every day. After a short look at the introductory letter assignment (which we will continue tomorrow), students got their English textbooks.

Housekeeping & More Quick-Writes

We began the day today by creating name tags and answering yesterday's burning questions. After reviewing the course description briefly and assigning homework, we spent the rest of the period on the quick-writes we started yesterday.
HW: With a parent or guardian, read and sign the course description by Friday, 8/31.

Day One

Today we found our seats in the seating chart (for now at least), and started with a bit of writing and talking about the power of ideas.
