Reflection, Polaroids, & Geraldo.

We started the day by reviewing and checking progress on semester one reflections. After that, students presented their art from yesterday's Polaroid project, and we read and wrote about "Geraldo No Last Name."

A Quick Review

Today we used our short period doing a quick review of the HMS chapters we read before break. The slides are here. The students will present their art tomorrow.

Today, after reviewing and sharing the homework, we recapped the chapters groups read yesterday, and read "Elenita..." together. Students handed in Writer's Notebooks at the end of the period.

Semester 1 Reflection

We spent most of the day thinking about the first semester and planning for the second with the assignment below. We wrapped up the day with another chapter of The House on Mango Street.

Starting HMS

Wednesday we just scratched the surface of The House on Mango Street, reading and responding to "My Name" in writer's notebooks. Thursday we returned Of Mice and Men and got The House on Mango Street and continued our reading and writing, looking at "The House on Mango Street" and Hairs."
